Overview
When plates need replacing
Plates are the heat-transfer surface of the exchanger. Over time they can crack from fatigue or pressure spikes, corrode, or be damaged during handling. A cracked plate lets the two media mix, so it must be replaced rather than returned to service.
Replacement plates are also used to add capacity to a frame that has room for more, or to change plate material when a process changes. Our standard supply is high-quality compatible parts that match or exceed the original OEM specification — the practical, cost-effective choice for most repairs. Genuine OEM parts are available on request.

Plate thickness, pattern (chevron angle), port arrangement and the end plates of the pack all need to match the existing pack. We confirm these before supply.
Identification
What we need to identify the right part
- Manufacturer and model
- Serial number from the nameplate
- Number of plates in the pack
- Plate dimensions and port positions, if the nameplate is missing
- Plate and gasket material, if known
- Photos of the nameplate, the unit and a plate
Compatibility
Compatibility and correct selection
A plate that doesn’t match the pattern, porting or gasket groove of the rest of the pack won’t seal or perform correctly. That is why we ask for the nameplate and, where possible, a photo of a plate.
Every plate is inspected by the Brantec team for quality and consistency before supply. Stocked parts are held locally.
